Easy Oven-Baked Bacon Guide

Easy Oven-Baked Bacon Guide

Few kitchen aromas signal home quite like bacon sizzling in the oven. I started using this method on slow weekend mornings when I wanted a breakfast that felt special—without standing over a splattering pan. The oven handles the work, filling the room with that irresistible, cozy scent while you enjoy your coffee and ease into the day.

The first time I baked bacon instead of pan‑frying, I was hosting brunch. With eggs cooking, coffee brewing, and a table full of hungry guests, the stovetop felt chaotic. The oven, however, was a small miracle—no splatter, no flipping, just perfectly crispy strips.

Now, oven‑baked bacon is my go‑to—whether it’s breakfast, dinner sides, meal prep, or holiday brunch. If you’ve ever wanted evenly cooked, crispy bacon without the mess, this approach will change your routine forever.

Ingredients

Bacon – 1 lb (regular or thick‑cut)
Aluminum foil or parchment – optional (makes cleanup easier)
Instructions

Preheat Oven
Set oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment if desired.
Arrange Bacon
Lay the strips in a single layer. They can touch but shouldn’t overlap.
Bake
Place the pan on the center rack and bake until crispy:
Regular cut: 15–18 minutes
Thick cut: 18–22 minutes
Drain & Serve
Transfer bacon to a paper‑towel‑lined plate to soak up excess grease. Serve immediately.
Why It Works

Even cooking without flipping
No stovetop splatter
Crispy perfection in every strip
